Southwest Airlines – 4th Quarter Sale

We all know airfare is getting more and more expensive and with all the additional fees we have to pay to check in our baggage, the price of traveling is almost double the amount we expect to pay. From now until October 29th, 2009, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, Southwest Airlines is having a 72 hour sale with fares as low as $25 one way! Here's a breakdown of the fares:

$25 – Travel 0 to 374 miles
$50 – 375 to 549 miles
$75 – 550 to 999 miles
$100 – 1000+ miles

Fares do not include federal excise tax of $3.60 for each flight segment. A flight segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing. Fares do not include airport-assessed passenger facility charges (PFC) of up to $9.00 and government-imposed September 11th Security Fee of up to $5.00 one-way. Select Destinations.

For more info, here’s what Southwest Airlines posted on their website:

We’ve tossed out the playbook! You’ve heard of throwback jerseys, but what about throwback fares? That’s right, for 72 hours you can score some of our most incredible deals of the year for travel Dec. 2 - Dec. 16, 2009 and Jan. 5 - Feb. 10, 2010.

With fares this low, you should invent a reason to go. But remember, there’s no “OT” on this sale. So put on your game face and score a cheap trip before it’s too late!

Already purchased a ticket for these travel dates and want to check for a lower fare?

Sample Sale at The North Face Outlet!

Winter season is coming up and for those of you who love to snowboard or ski, or just love The North Face brand, this is the perfect deal for you!

Starting tomorrow, The North Face Outlet in Berkeley, CA is having a sample sale. There will be men's and women's waterproof outerwear, hats and beanies, men's and women's sportswear shirts, men's and women's pants, men's and women's insulated outerwear and men's and women's fleece outwear. In addition to that, there will also be backpacks, shoes, gloves, scarves and camping accessories sold at the sample sale. Although the picture says the sample sale is for October 8th, the sale generally lasts throughout the weekend. Just make sure the sale is still going on, so call before you go!

The North Face Outlet is located at:
1238 Fifth Street
Berkeley, CA 94710
Phone 510-526-3530

From my past experiences at The North Face Outlet sample sale, it's best to get to the sale as early as possible, since all the good stuff will be snatched up by people who are looking to resell these items. There will be lots of people at this sale and it's best to dress lightly and not carry any big bags with you. There will also be boxes and clothes all over the place, including the floor, so be careful! I've tripped at these sales before. If you're patient, you'll love this sale. I've gotten many good deals and I suggest grabbing doubles of the same item because sometimes they're priced differently. I've gotten a jacket for $50, but there was another priced at $80 for the exact same thing. When you're at the sale, you'll be given a large, clear plastic bag, similar to a trash bag. Throw everything you plan on getting in there and decide later!

Here are some examples of deals I've gotten:

Vault Backpack: $10
Pandora Backpack: $10
Isabella Backpack: $10 (now $30)
Amira Backpack: $30
Jester Backpack: $30
Recon Backpack: $30
Nuptse Jacket: $80
Snowboard pants: $50
Scarves: $5
Beanies: $5
Kids' Jackets: $15 - $20

Please note that some prices have changed and these items are from past seasons. Most sample items are size M, but occasionally you'll find some other sizes. The sample sale is limited to stock on hand. Hurry for the best selection!

If you have any questions about my experience at the sale, just ask me!

Note: All items for this event are prior seasons’ salesman samples. Samples are limited in sizes, colors and quantities. Quantities are limited to stock on hand. Shop early for the best selection! Sorry, no phone or mail orders accepted. All sales final. Samples do not carry The North Face lifetime warranty. Sale starts Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Berkeley Outlet. 1238 Fifth Street, Berkeley, CA 94710. Phone 510-526-3530.

OUR OUTLETS CARRY DISCONTINUED ITEMS AND SECONDS. Seconds are items with minor flaws that do not affect performance. The North Face products in our Outlets do not carry The North Face lifetime warranty. Sorry, no phone or mail orders accepted. Quantities are limited to stock on hand. Shop early for best selection.

$10 off Juniors' Apparel at Sears

Sears is offering $10 off your purchase of junior apparel with no minimum purchase required. In most cases, this usually translates to $10 off $10 or more, but if you get a nice cashier, maybe they'll give you your item(s) free if your purchase is under $10.

To shop in store, here's your printable coupon. In the October issue of seventeen magazine, there's a tear-out copy of this coupon on the front page. This deal is also available online with offer code 17SEARSAPPAREL, but you would have to pay for shipping, which starts at $6.25.

Offer is good until November 14, 2009.

Note: Savings apply to juniors' apparel only. Not valid on Lands' End merchandise, Outlet Store purchases and catalog orders. One coupon per purchase, not valid on prior purchases. Discount is applied before sales tax and cannot be used with any other coupon or associate discount. Void where prohibited by law. Any other use constitutes fraud. Cash value 1/20 cent. In an event of a return, coupon savings may be deducted from your refund. Valid 9/15 through 11/14/09 in the USA only.

Check out your local Sears for clothes on the clearance racks. Many items are 50% off with an additional 40% off!

Restaurant.com - 90% off!

In celebration of 09.09.09, Restaurant.com is having a 90% off sale for 99 hours only! For those of you that aren’t familiar with Restaurant.com, they sell discounted gift certificates to many local restaurants in your area. $25 gift certificates are usually sold for $10 or $15 (depending on the restaurant) and $10 gift certificates are usually sold for $4. With the 90% off code, $25 gift certificates comes down to $1 or $1.50 and $10 gift certificates come down to 40 cents!

Coupon code: NINETY. Code is valid through September 13, 2009.

Note: Gift certificates from Restaurant.com are more like a coupon, since there’s a minimum amount required for a meal. You’re limited to using only one certificate per group visit. They may not be combined with one another and there are restrictions. Restrictions can include dining during certain days or hours, minimum purchase, no alcohol, lunch or dinner only and possibly more. Most restaurants will also automatically add 18% gratuity to your pre-discounted bill.

If you like dining out with a group of people and you split the bill, this would come in handy for you! Your friends won’t know how much you paid for this. Assuming you’re with a group of people, you’ll very likely meet the minimum purchase required and all you have to do is use your certificate and pay the differences, tax and tip. For example, I purchased one of the $25 (normally sold for $10) certificates to Horizon Restaurant and Lounge at 80% off, which only cost me $2. The minimum purchase was $35, but since I went to eat with a group of people, the amount was way over that. The total for my order was only $22, and with the $3 I had leftover, that was enough to cover tax. With the 18% gratuity added, I only had to pay $6 more. While my friends were spending way more for their meals, mine only cost me $8. Hot deal, huh? Go out with your friends and do what I did! Hahaha.

Want to save even more money? If so, then you should sign up for Ebates.com. Ebates is a site that gives you cash back for your online purchases. In order to get cash back, you must visit Ebates.com and search for the store you’re trying to shop at. If it’s listed on the site, then all you have to do is click on the link that’ll open up a new window that’ll tell you you’re on your way to saving _% at ___’s website. In addition to that, Ebates may have coupon codes listed on their site to save you even more money. Restaurant.com is listed on Ebates with 15% cash back.

Cash back bonus! To save you even MORE money, if you sign up for Ebates.com through my referral link, you’ll get a bonus of $5. Click here for to join Ebates.com. Happy shopping and dining!

three blogs

The three blogs I chose to write about are Pursebuzz.com, NessasaryMakeup and Bllew Photography. I chose these three blogs because I have a big interest in makeup and photography.

The first blog I chose is
Pursebuzz.com. What really interests me about this blog is that the blog has many posts relating to makeup. The way the blog is set up is intended for an audience and there are many links for the reader to check out and interact with. There are reviews about cosmetics, hair and makeup tutorials, fashion features, even contests. The blogger is writing in first person tone. The interactive features include a chat box, which allows readers to leave comments and messages for the blog owner, a link to follow the blogger on Twitter, contests and videos. What I like about this blog is all the tips and tutorials there are on there. I also love watching her tutorials on YouTube. They’re fun to watch and I get to learn how to achieve a look with the makeup she uses. At this time, I don’t think there needs to be any improvements.

The next blog I chose is
NessassaryMakeup. It’s similar to Pursebuzz.com, but it’s more user-friendly since there aren’t as many links on this blog. Like Pursebuzz.com, this blog is written towards an audience and also written in first person tone. There is also a link for Twitter followers to follow this blogger and there are YouTube videos for tutorials as well. What I like about this blog is the simplicity of it. She writes about her everyday life, and rates products she’s tried, has tutorials and lots of pictures. I don’t see any need for improvements. I like it the way it is.

The last blog I chose is
Bllew Photography. I chose this blog because of my interest in photography and also because this blog is owned by two friends of mine. Since the blog is written by two people (at separate times), they write it in their point of view towards an audience. Their interactive features include a comment box, which allows viewers to comment on their blog posts. I like the blog because it’s simple and has lots of pictures, which inspire me to learn how to take better pictures. I’ve noticed some grammar errors, so that could be something that could be improved by the bloggers.

Two ideas I’d like to maintain for this blog would be photography and shopping.
